Winter Storm Uri aid
Houston, TX
Following the winter storm, Uri, that struck much of Texas this February, Legacy assisted Houston Texans lineman Laremy Tunsil to give back to his local community of Houston, Texas. Tunsil donated necessities that many families were in need of in the aftermath of power and water outages and store closures, including food and water, and volunteered at the Jim & Barbara Morefield Boys & Girls Club to help in their aid efforts.
Tunsil is passionate about his community, and he and Legacy sprung quickly into action during the winter storm, organizing volunteering and securing items for the event in the course of two dayswithin 24 hours. On this cause, Tunsil states, “Giving back to my community has always been incredibly important to me. After seeing how hard my local area has been hit by the effects of Texas’ winter storms, I needed to help impacted families. I hope that my donation helps to ease the burden for those who have been without necessities!”.
This event was held in partnership with the Houston Food Bank and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Houston. Over 150 cases of water and food boxes were distributed via a COVID-compliant drive-thru event.
