Legacy Founder Named "Woman of Promise"
We are proud to announce that our CEO and Founder, Laila Souktani, was honored at the Los Angeles Lakers game as part of the Comerica Bank Women’s Business Awards Program. In partnership with the Lakers, Comerica Bank recognized Laila as the Woman of Promise—an award that celebrates rising stars who are making a name for themselves in their field or industry. This recognition was especially meaningful to Laila, as Legacy Philanthropy’s very first event took place at a Lakers game five years ago—a moment that beautifully reflects how far we’ve come and how much more is ahead.
Her very first Legacy Philanthropy event was hosting foster youth at a Lakers game — an event built on faith, a few favors, and a vision: to help athletes turn their platforms into lasting community impact. Since that first event in 2020, Legacy has grown into a company planning events internationally and partnering with athletes and influencers across the NFL, WNBA, NBA, and beyond. Today, we’re proud to be building a bridge between talent, brands, and communities — creating partnerships that don’t just drive awareness, but create lasting, meaningful impact.
We’re incredibly proud of Laila for her unwavering commitment and the meaningful impact she continues to make. A huge thank you to the Lakers and Comerica Bank for honoring her dedication to creating lasting change and celebrating the work Legacy stands for.
